Dioxide 80th Birthday – Set Recordings & Full Energy Recap
Dioxide’s 80th Birthday was one of those nights that reminds you exactly why these events still hit the way they do.
From the second you walk into Doncaster Warehouse, you already know what you’re in for — heavy sound, packed dancefloor, and that proper no-nonsense rave atmosphere. No filler, just music and people there for the same reason.
I went down and recorded two sets on the night, both completely different vibes but equally mad in their own way.
First up — Devastate B2B with MC Domer & MC E-LL.
This one was pure energy. Fast, aggressive, non-stop movement. The kind of set where you don’t really get a breather, and no one in the room wants one anyway. MCs were locked in the whole time, crowd feeding off it start to finish.
Then Lozza & MC Stompin stepped up… and yeah, this was one of those sets.
Proper makina sound done right. Big melodies, fast pace, and that nostalgic but still heavy feel that Lozza brings. Stompin on the mic just ties it all together — you can tell they’ve done this a thousand times, everything flows without forcing it.
Both sets have now been recorded and will be going up — so if you were there, you’ll be able to relive it, and if you weren’t… this is exactly what you missed.
Dioxide don’t really need explaining if you’ve been before.
